The Part Time Beauty Hall of Fame: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Right, how has it been more than two months since my last post? What’s that all about?! I don’t know if anyone even reads long-form blog posts anymore but, you know what? I love writing, and I especially love writing about beauty, and so you can expect more of me writing about beauty in 2020. Unless, of course, you happen to be one of the aforementioned non-reader types, in which case you can bugger off back to Snapchat or TikTok or whatever it is people are looking at nowadays. I’ll try not to be too offended.

Given how long its been, however, I should probably remind you what the Part Time Beauty Hall of Fame is before I talk you through the latest product to be inducted into it. In short, the Part Time Beauty Hall of Fame is a highly curated list of products, including make-up, skincare, haircare and tools, which have consistently outperformed any others in their respective categories, and which are worth purchasing time and time again. Think of it as the Part Time Beauty version of Into The Gloss’s ITG Top 25 or Violet Grey’s ‘Violet Code’, but with an esteemed panel of me and…er…me. (I note that I am notoriously difficult to please, which I suppose is why I started this blog in the first place.)

Fittingly enough, the latest product to be inducted into the Part Time Beauty Hall of Fame is one I’ve bought so many times I have long since lost count, and I also go into a mild panic whenever I happen to be without it. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is, for me, so much more than just a concealer — it is a lifeline, a magic wand, a multi-tasking hero which banishes both blemishes and bags with efficacy and ease. I’ve used innumerable concealers over the years, but this one is probably the best, with a formula that goes further than most. Allow me to explain why.

While there are many concealers out there which are great at hiding dark circles and bags (Chanel’s Éclat Lumière is my current favourite for this, and Veil Retouching Fluid from Hourglass is another good one), and there are a handful of others which are excellent at erasing blemishes, there are few that can do both and do it well. Radiant Creamy Concealer is one of these few, with a formula that is lightweight enough for the delicate under-eye area, yet pigmented enough to cover even a bad breakout.

Enriched with “hydrating, multi-action skincare benefits and light diffusing technology”, Radiant Creamy Concealer “creates a softer, smoother complexion while instantly obscuring imperfections and diminishing fine lines and signs of fatigue.” While marketing bumph is often just that, this description from NARS is actually pretty damn accurate. And, in what is probably one of the only things Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have in common (apart from being English and, I don’t know, tall), I often use this in place of foundation on mornings when I’m in a hurry, or when I just don’t want to use foundation for whatever reason. Just pop a few dabs where needed, blend with fingertips, and you’re good to go!

Radiant Creamy Concealer is available in 22 shades. I wear Vanilla, which I am very sad to say is the second palest shade. Many make-up artists have even been known to use darker shades to contour client’s faces, so beautifully blendable is this formula.
So, does NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer get your vote? Let us know in the comments, or via our Instagram page. :)
