New York - RTW AW13 - Rag & Bone

City: New York
Season: Ready-To-Wear, Autumn/Winter 2013
Show: Rag & Bone

When David Neville and Marcus Wainwright set up the Rag & Bone label in 2002 it was with one simple mission - to create clothes that they and their friends would want to wear every day. Ten years later the mission is more apparent than ever, and for Autumn/Winter 2013 Neville and Wainwright greeted New York with a fully-formed, flesh and blood (and tweed) version of the Rag & Bone girl. Moving on from spring’s slick motocross-inspired collection, Autumn/Winter 2013 was something of a tour de force, a celebration of the English heritage style out of which the Rag & Bone brand was born. But, as always, David and Marcus tempered this nostalgia with clean silhouettes and modern hues. Case in point: Manon Leloup (centre left), whose bold colours were offset by sharp tailoring and straight lines. Aymeline Valade’s bright cobalt pants and leather biker (bottom right) brought to mind last season’s sporty shapes, while Marine Deleeuw’s mannish trouser suit (centre) was the epitome of a girl we have come to know and love, a girl we all aspire to be - the Rag & Bone girl. Autumn/Winter 2013 was arguably their most refined outing yet.
